What is Voter Suppression

What is Voter Suppression
David Schlecht

You won’t hear much about this in the regular news channels but the Republican party is funding programs in multiple states to prevent legitimate voters from voting.

You may be wondering why this could possibly be. It makes sense seeing the facts, but it’s hard to believe that any American political party would want to disenfranchise voters.

But, it is a fact, the Republican party is spending money in multiple states to do just that.

The Republican operative, Paul Wayrich, laid it out in black and white back in the 80s and the Republican party has been following the plan ever since. Here’s what the Republican strategist had to say:

I don’t want everyone to vote. Quite candidly, our leverage in the elections go up as the voting populous goes down.

Well, face it, considering how the Republican party has been trying to accomplish this for the past 30 years, this should come as no surprise to anyone.

Was America Founded on Christian Values?

I’ve heard this argument so many times I decided it needed to be investigated. Was America founded on Christian values?

There are two places for us to look for answers: 1. Do Christian values agree with the values this country were founded upon, and 2. Did our founding fathers make any comments regarding this possibility?

Christian Values

Let’s start with looking at Christian values and American values and see how much overlap there really is. A quick read of the bible or even a quick goolge of Christian morals and values brings up these values defined in the Christian bible.

Jesus Died for Our Sins

This is one of the biggest defining principles of Christian religion. Having one entity/person/god take the punishment so the guilty party can go free is not only immoral but is entirely against the ideas of moral in today’s America and wasn’t considered moral by our founding fathers. Therefore, the biggest principle of Christianity is completely contrary to American morals.

Sacrificing for God

The bible is rich with ritual of sacrifice of both human and animal. No one today or at the founding of our country ever thought that it was acceptable to kill humans or animals for a deity.

Judge Not Lest You be Judged

Again, this is one of the principle definitions of Christianity and is referenced in the bible repeatedly. However, our country’s constitution defines judges as a fundamental part of the government.

Subjugation of Women

America’s founding fathers were mostly pagans but there were a couple devoutly religious in the mix. Still, there is no reference in any of our country’s founding documents, including all the notes on all the discussions leading up to the constitution that makes any reference to women being second class citizens or requiring women to be subservient to their husbands or covering their heads. Yet, these are defining principles in many of the bible’s stories. Even Jesus was quoted as being abusive to his mother.

The list of defining Christian morals that don’t match morals of our country are endless. I could continue but I believe I’ve proven my point.

Secondly, what did our founding fathers say about religion and government?

Founding Fathers’ Religious Comments

Let us start with the most obvious, the first amendment: Congress shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion.

Isn’t that pretty obvious? If it’s not, if you want to interpret it to mean Congress shall make laws respecting… then you might have missed something in your English language class in elementary school. No means no. Even if you wonder if it really means yes, then correspondences with the founding fathers would illuminate that, but as it turns out, documents of their correspondences show that they mean “no”. For example, Thomas Jefferson wrote to say the 1st amendment made a “wall of separation between church and State.”

Madison was quoted as saying, “Strongly guarded. . . is the separation between religion and government in the Constitution of the United States.”

Not obvious enough, yet?

In an international treaty, The Treaty of Tripoli, drafted in the late 1700s it states:

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

The only way to continue to believe that America was founded on Christian principles is to refuse to accept facts. Unfortunately, though, this is also a defining characteristic of Christianity.

Peace Brothers.

Obamas commin for ur guns fools

Obamas commin for ur guns fools
David Schlecht

If you’re not foolish enough to watch or believe Fox News, then you probably don’t know about the conspiracy theory they are ginning up. This one is as far fetched and unbelievable as any you will ever hear but the right wing universe is chock full of true believers.

Fox News has daily stories about how Obama and Holder have concocted a plan to give guns to the Mexicans so they can come to America and commit crimes. Then America will be so upset with gun violence that they all want to give up their guns. And then the two black men in the White House will send all the white people off to FEMA concentration camps.

There’ll probably even be ovens.

I know, I know, no sane person would believe such a foolish notion. But the right is plum full of really smart people standing in lines to buy guns and ammunition to defend against the coming holocaust against the whites.

Does that sound pretty silly to you? Well, the Republican party is moving forward with contempt of congress allegations against Eric Holder. Next will come impeachment hearings against Obama.

It’s sad to see such gullible frightened little people being used by the Republican party. So very sad.

Of course, the accusations will go nowhere because the plan to give guns to Mexico was a plan created and started by the Bush administration. What? You mean it’s not an Obama plot to take over the whites? Really? Oh, I can’t believe it.

Well, if you watch Fox News, you probably do believe it, and shame on you. For the vast majority of Americans, you probably don’t even know what this whole thing is all about because you don’t watch Fox lies.

But, get ready. It’s coming your way. America is about to be disgraced by the Republicans again, just like with Clinton.

How can anyone with a brain vote for a single Republican? The party is a disgrace on America and is doing more harm to our country than any enemy could ever do.

Oh, by the way, the conspiracy is called Fast and Furious.

We’re Fighting Over the Table Scraps

We’re Fighting Over the Table Scraps
David Schlecht

Today I saw an awful display of media failure. On the local KRNV news station, there was a story about a “Taxpayer Watchdog Group” uncovering millions of dollars of waste in Nevada government. However, the news failed to report that the facts that were uncovered were totally incorrect and what’s most important is that the taxpayer group was actually a front group funded by millionaires and billionaires.

Ask yourself, why would the 1% want to put out fake news stories about government employees’ benefits?

How do the 1% benefit when we’re all fighting among ourselves over the table scraps left over from them raping and pillaging America?

For most of my readers, I’m sure you already know the answer. They benefit by having us divided and fighting among ourselves rather than us sticking together and demanding that they give back the trillions of dollars they’ve stolen from us over the past 30 years.

If we’re all fighting over who makes a dollar more in retirement than we do while someone else is arguing that I make a dollar more than they do in wages, then we all end up with less and the 1% end up with everything.

There should be no question that this is exactly where we are today, fighting over the scraps left over from the 1%.

It’s time we quit listening to their fake news stories about how the teachers are bad or the union workers are bad or how the government workers are bad or how the (insert your industry here) is bad.

Watch out for any organization you hear with warm and fuzzy names like Americans for a better this or that. Look them up and you’ll find that almost all of them are poisenous front groups for the 1% intent on destroying and stealing from what’s left of America’s middle class.

Wisconsin Elections, What Do They Mean?

Wisconsin Elections, What Do They Mean?
David Schlecht

What do the results of the Wisconsin elections mean for America? Does it mean big Big BIG money will always win out? Does it mean the voters are still swayed by big advertisements? Does it mean the majority of people in Wisconsin hate the average worker, hate the poor, hate education?

What are your thoughts?

America a Christian Nation

America a Christian Nation

Paul J.

Ever wonder if America was founded as a Christian nation? Ever heard that we must be since we are founded on Christian values? Well, if someone said it must be, well, then it must be.

If you are not so inclined to believe just anyone about such a grand assertion, you’re probably wondering where you can find information on the issue. Well, of course, you can find it right here. But, why stop there? Why not read the actual words of America’s founding fathers?

Here is a link to Thomas Paine’s works. See what he says and then come back here and tell me you believe America is a Christian nation.
