Who Would Do That?
As we all know, the Democratic candidates got more votes in all three branches of government, last election. More people voted for Democratic House members, more people voted for Democratic Senate candidates, and more people voted for a Democratic president.
Of course, even though there were about a million and a half more Democratic votes for the House, the Republican still control it because of electioneering, you know, circumventing the vote of the people.
But, why would a political party obstruct the country at every opportunity when they know the majority voted for the changes they obstruct? Why would a political party try to stop the will of the voters?
A party that intended to derail a democracy would be considered undemocratic, wouldn’t they? They would certainly never get elected into power into the country they’re trying to derail would they?
Would you vote for a party that actively tried to circumvent and obstruct the will of the majority? Would you vote Republican? Most people say, no! Who would do that?
What Proves God Exists?
I hear people telling me, all day long, about all the things that proves to them that God exists or that there is intelligent design or whatever.
Sunsets are beautiful because God exists. See? It’s proof. Birds fly because God designed them. See? It’s proof. Back in the cavemen days, they would say, When I jump up, God brings me back down. See? It’s proof.
But when asked for actual evidence, well, no one seems to have the proof. Why would God hide the proof from us when so many are seeking it? A cruel hoax?
Well, let’s change the question around a little bit. If there was one fact, that if proven, would convince you that there is no God, what would that fact be?
What facts do you have that if proven would make you question your god?
If something can’t be disproved can it be proven?
Your God is Here
I don’t consider myself an atheist by any stretch, but consider any religious person without an open mind to be a slave, and an easy target for religions and the republican party. But, still, with an open mind, I found this concept quite interesting. Which God in there is yours?
The Need for the Popular Vote
Did you know that four out of five Americans’ votes were ignored during the 2012 election? If you remember, everything was narrowed down to the so called “swing states” and that’s where the candidates put almost all their effort.
Is this really a democracy when presidential candidates can effectively ignore that much of the country?
How do we fix this?
Check out National Popular Vote to get this fixed.
How did things get so messed up? How could our founding fathers have gotten this part so wrong?
That’s easy. They expected us to be fixing up this country and our constitution as we went along. We aren’t supposed to be looking at our forefathers and founding documents as perfect. In fact, it was expected that we would review our constitution on a regular basis.
This isn’t a constitutional solution but it works even better. We should have a national popular vote.
