It’s Not a Horse Race

It’s Not a Horse Race

Matthew K.

I read this on today’s news:

Both sides are making it clear today that they take the partial shutdown of the federal government seriously.

House Speaker John Boehner, in calling for talks with the White House, said, “This isn’t some damn game.”

This is such an obvious example of our broken and harmful news media in America. These opening statements in the news article imply that both sides are “serious” but there is no mention of the actual facts.

The Democrats in Congress provided a budget proposal to the Republicans almost six months ago and the Republicans have refused to bring it up for a discussion or a vote. They refused, even though Boehner said he got 98% of everything he wanted. The budget even included the economy-destroying sequester the Republicans want.

So to rephrase this, the Democrats gave the Republican everything they wanted and now the Republicans refuse to accept that and demand even more.

Then the worthless press publishes articles like this implying that somehow the Democrats weren’t being serious before.

This kind of unprofessional, childish news reporting is just as harmful to our country as the corrupt politicians and the tea bagger billionaires who own them.

Hey, news industry. Wake up! You’re poisoning our country.

  1. That’s nothing. I’ve seen this stuff all over the news. It’s both parties. Well, unless you read the retard news sites like Fox or Drudge where it’s all Obama’s fault.

  2. Our media industry is so very broken. Yes, indeed, they are as much a part of the problem as any corrupt politician. Hey Mainstream Media!!! Do your job!!!
