What Would You Do?

I was browsing the online news today and spent a few moments reading the reader comments. It was sad to see the number of shills that spew their trash on the web. On every page I visited, there were absurd statements made by numerous login IDs. The rest of the forum was busy trying to explain their truth to the shills. What a waste of time.

But, that got me to wondering who has released all these winged monkeys on the blogosphere.

I'll change gears for a moment. Let's say, just hypothetically, that there was a foreign country or group that wanted to damage or destroy America. Sure, picture these people in your mind. Since they can't beat us militarily, they have to find alternate methods.

So, what would they do? What would you do? To be successful, the first thing they would have to do is isolate America from the rest of the world. Get us to use our good-will reserves so the world is less tolerant of us, less understanding, less forgiving. I guess they could say, "been there, done that, got the tee shirt."

What else would they do? How about try to damage our economy. Hmm, there goes another tee shirt.

Here's the big one. They would try to divide and weaken America. Remember all those bumper stickers that came out right after 9/11, “United and Strong”? That was another universe wasn't it? Yes, America is divided like never before. Our military is stretched beyond its limits. Our freedoms and civil rights are slipping away at alarming rates. Well, I'll be darned, there goes another tee-shirt.

Maybe we can blame all these problems on some foreign power or maybe we can't. It doesn't really matter at this point. The point now is that we have to figure out how to stop the back-slide and recover from our problems.

What do you suppose our enemies are thinking? Oh, hey, all they have to do is try to keep us like this for a few more years and they can kiss goodbye to their enemy, America. So, how do they try to keep us weak, divided, alienated, despised?

Elections are coming up. Do you think our enemies would like to see a change in America's leadership? Of course not. So, how would they try to keep the status quo? By getting on the blogs and defending the Republicans at every chance. Statistically, there are too many shills on the Web to all be from the Republican Party and I know for a fact that most Republicans know how to write better than that. Maybe it's time to do a little research and see where the shills are coming from. I'll bet there are a lot from foreign countries.

Try this. The next time you see a stupid shill on a news group or blog or news story, don't waste your time discussing with them, just expose them for what they are - anti-American. Don’t play into their trap, just move on. Be civil, but be blunt. I'm beginning to see more responses that say, "froggie's understanding of the American government indicates that he has no clue and is probably an imposter." This lets everyone else know not to waste their time with him. He's not there to learn, but to destroy.
