More Important Than The President

More Important Than The President
by
Captain Jack

The US government is made up of three separate branches, the president, congress, and the supreme court. The system is supposed to be made up of checks and balances. The primary control was to be the Congress. They have the purse strings and can decide to fund or starve any programs defined by the courts (which should never happen but don’t be surprised) or by the president. That’s a whole lot of power.

Originally, the president was to have very little power. Over time, though, the presidents have been taking more and more power to themselves. GW Bush was the closest we’ve come to a “unitary executive”, or dictator, as Bush would call it.

Still, the courts and Congress have the power to limit the over-reaches of the president. However, the Supreme Court has taken powers to itself that the other branches are unable to easily check and balance. The Supreme Court was not originally intended to be the final word in the land but it says it is and the rest of the country, representatives and voters alike, just ignore the power grab.

Never was it intended by our forefathers that the Supreme Court would be able to make stuff up like it does today. A simple case in point is the Citizen’s United VS the FEC case where the Supreme Court said corporations have the right to flood, absolutely monopolize the media with lies to corrupt elections. Think about that for a moment. Corporations can silence all of us by spending billions of dollars to flood the airwaves so the average multi-millionaire politician is unable to get his word out. Yes, that’s what the Supreme Court has decided.

Absolutely nowhere in the constitution will you find the word “corporation”. In other words, “we the people” are given all the rights except those noted in the constitution and corporations were to have none other than those provided by the individual states.

The premise of our country was “one man one vote” and “one man one voice”. Now, the Supreme Court has decided a case that is contrary to everything the constitution is about and there is nothing within reason that the president and Congress can do. The only solution to this is to either impeach the corrupt (yes, republican) Supreme Court judges or amend the constitution. This case was decided on a purely party line split with the republicans selling you and me down the river.

There have been many many thousands of constitutional amendments proposed but only a very few ever passed. Amending the constitution in an emergency is impossible. Even passing new laws to try to limit the damage caused by the republicans is unlikely to succeed because the court can just take the case and judge it unconstitutional to try to circumvent their damage.

In other words, the Supreme Court has become the dictators of the land and with the absolutely crazy activist republican judges showing nothing but contempt for the constitution and for we the people, our only reasonable choice is to impeach them. It is time to impeach the republican Supreme Court judges, which Congress can do immediately and clean up this mess. Then, given time, we can amend the constitution to say something like, any Supreme Court judge who is found to be as stupid and un-American as these will be drawn and quartered immediately. And, while we’re at it, we can pass an amendment which says, DUH, corporations aren’t people and don’t get rights of people. Well, obviously, we’ll have to clean up the court before we can even consider any other alternatives.

This is an emergency. With each election that we pass following the new court-defined laws, the less control you and I will have over our representatives. Call your representatives today and call the president today and say you want the justices impeached.

The Folly of Extending Unemployment Benefits

The Folly of Extending Unemployment Benefits
by
Captain Jack

No, I’m not another one of those brain dead conservatives that think the best cure for high unemployment numbers is to let them starve to death. No, Sharron Angle, they’re not unemployed because they like starving. But, just extending unemployment benefits is more harmful than beneficial. Let me explain.

During the Republican Great Depression of the 1930s, many people were unemployed for so long that they became unemployable. There’s only so many years you can unsuccessfully apply for work in your profession before you quit trying. Sure, many of them tried alternative professions, such as selling apples or pencils on the street corners. But there’s not a big demand for menial labor like that.

So, what did all those people do back in those days? You guessed it, the same thing they’ll end up doing this time if we don’t fix the unemployment issue right away. They became chronically homeless. Do you remember the large number of homeless that were referred to as Hobos? Yes, a large number of people learned to live off the streets and off the land. None of them ever got assimilated back into society.

Giving people extended unemployment benefits doesn’t keep them employable. It makes them dependent on the benefits. The only long term solution to unemployment is more jobs. For every dollar spent on unemployment benefits, we need two dollars in jobs programs. The only way to keep the people employable is to keep them employed. That means jobs programs.

Too bad the republicans are killing every attempt at building jobs programs. The republican senators do not want to fix the economy, they want to benefit from it by stretching it out as long as they can. Just look at all the jobs programs that the republicans have voted against. It’s sickening, yet few republican voters realize it.

We need a whole lot more jobs programs and we need them immediately. Extending unemployment benefits without jobs will only make matters worse.

When Will They Ever Admit?

When Will They Ever Admit?
by
Captain Jack

To anyone not totally mesmerized by the right-wing media, it is obvious that the conservative policies of smaller government (no regulations), welfare for the rich, and free trade are destroying America. How could anyone really argue otherwise?

The conservatives were arguing non-stop about how global warming was a myth made up by the liberal commie hippies.

Now, here we are at a point where it is plain as day the folly of the conservative policies, yet they continue to preach the failed policies and their fooled followers just continue to follow along, unthinking.

When will the liars or the uneducated conservative followers ever admit they are wrong? When? Exactly what will it take before they admit they’re wrong?

If my conservative friends are any example there is no fact that will ever convince them that they are wrong. They even admit that. So why do we continue to bother to try to help them understand the facts? It’s time we left them for brain dead and moved on with the solutions to the past 30 years of failed conservative policies. They will never be able to help.

Obama’s Big Deficit

Obama’s Big Deficit
by
Captain Jack

I’ve heard one person after another explaining how Obama’s deficit is the biggest in history. I though I would look into this claim a little and see what I can find. Here’s is a quick graph from OffTheChartsBlog to show what the major contributors are to the deficit.

US Deficit
US Deficit

Take a look at the white area of the graph at the bottom. You see the small sliver of white? That is what the deficit would look like without the Bush years. In other words, take away the economic collapse Bush ushered in, take away the Bush tax cuts for billionaires, take away Bush’s misguided wars and what you have left is the small area at the bottom.

Of course, the TARP money is from the Bush years if you remember. TARP was already passed before Obama took office.

So, please, do yourself a favor and get in the habit of questioning the numbers and fears you hear spread by the right wing lie machine. It’s sole purpose is to take advantage of the uninformed. Don’t be one of them.

United We Stand

United We Stand
by
Captain Jack

United We Stand

Do you remember the solidarity America felt after we were attacked on 9/11? The whole country came together. The sitting president had one of the worst approval ratings and most of America knew we were attacked because of his failings, but we all stood together. UNITED WE STOOD.

Katrina came along and the same sitting president continued to sit while New Orleans drowned. Four days of people dying and Americans were united in our efforts to address the problems. We all knew that the sitting president had been appointed by a coup of the Supreme Court, but we all united to address the problems rather than attacking the utter failure of a president.

Compare that with today. We have one of the best presidents America has seen in decades. Just look at the long long list of wonderful accomplishments, not to mention digging our economy out of the Republican Second Great Depression.

But all the Republicans can do is complain that he isn’t addressing the economy (until they’re proven to be liars) or complaining about how he isn’t enough involved in the oil spill (until they are proven to be wrong yet again) or complaining about how Obama must be unfit to be president because he was born in Kenya (and these lies have been exposed time after time).

Do you see any sort of contrast? A Republican president bringing destruction upon America and we are still all united to solve our difficulties. A Democratic president comes along and the Republican will do anything, even bringing disaster to our country to try to bring him down.

Sick. Just real sick. How about if we all tried a little “United We Stand”?

The Valdez of Our Day

The Valdez of Our Day
by
Captain Jack

Maybe a better title would be, “The Katrina of Today”, or maybe “Obama’s Katrina.”

The Obama administration has been involved in resolving this oil spill since the beginning but they have been doing a worthless job of keeping the American people informed.

It makes sense keeping BP involved in this cleanup effort since it’s their disaster and America doesn’t own off shore oil rigging equipment. Still, we need to know what is going on. It is now obvious to everyone that BP has been lying to us about the scope of the disaster. Has Obama been involved in this deception or just victim to it, but either way, it’s wrong. We need to put as much effort into this as we can.

It was a good move on our part to forbid BP from continuing to pump toxic dispersants into the waters, after how many hundreds of thousands of gallons were injected. And, why are we (and BP) pumping dispersants into the water? Is this to aid with the clean up? Doubtful.

Hey Obama, be careful what you are doing here. If you try to keep this disaster secret, you will make this a disaster worse than Bush’s handling of Katrina.

Medical Costs

Medical Costs
by
Captain Jack

In order to fix what we think is broken, we should try to understand how we got in this mess. The problem with our out-of-control medical costs exemplifies this handily. Knowing how we got in this mess will usually help us figure out how to get out of it and at the very least can help us avoid stepping in the same hole again once it’s fixed.

If you only have one power company, they can charge whatever they want for electricity and you can either pay through the nose or freeze to death. This is an example of supply and demand. There is a large demand and only a single supplier. That is why most of our power providers are tightly regulated — to prevent this type of abuse.

Computers were expensive at the beginning. I remember when my first desktop computer cost me $1300 for a run-of-the-mill computer. Now you can buy a computer for $300. Why the difference? Supply and demand, obviously. Now there are numerous companies trying to sell you a computer.

So let’s think back about 30 years. Medical care was expensive. You paid almost $30 for a doctor visit. No, not for the co-pay, not for the deductible. That was the cost of the visit. Sure, that was expensive then, but nothing like what we’re paying today.

What has changed since then? What has caused the prices to sky rocket?

Do you think that it might possibly have something to do with supply and demand? You’re right on the money.

We have a higher demand for medical care now than we did back then. There were more doctors available per patient than we have now. Considerably more. And, why is that? The reason is two fold.

1. The AMA restricts how many doctors get through a medical degree.  They control the supply. The AMA should be terminated. It is not benefiting society, but causing the deaths of many Americans due to unavailable affordable health care.

2. The second reason is along the same line. What else changed 30 years ago? What changed that affects how many people graduate from medical school? You’re probably way ahead of me on this one. Yes, it’s because the cost of education has gone through the roof. 30 years ago many colleges were free or close to free. Today, only the elite can afford to send their kids to medical school.

If we all paid $10 per year to provide free medical education to anyone interested and capable of graduating, we would save hundreds of dollars a year in medical costs. But, no, we don’t want to pay an extra dime on our taxes and see what this stingy attitude has done to our once great nation?

Define Socialism

Define Socialism
by
Captain Jack

I found it rather amusing to read David’s prior post on the social foundations of America and our founding fathers. I was not in the least suprised by the confused response to his references to socialism.

As sad as it is, Americans have no clue what Socialism is. They’re taught to hate and fear it because it represents the arch enemy of democracy, communism. Many tyrants in the world’s history have used the term socialism to hide and sweeten the sound of the awful deeds they wrought upon their people as well as the earth as a whole. Even Hitler was selling his hate-filled and corrosive politics as a form of socialism.

No wonder Americans are so afraid of the sound.

But, alas, a couple years in school (well, higher education perhaps) one quickly learns that socialism is either a political theory or an economic theory that is constructed for the benefit of society, for the benefit of the social.

Since this is primarily a political blog though not exclusively, my understanding of David’s reference to the term socialism was that of a political bent. It’s important for everyone to know that there is world of difference between socialism and communism, even though some like to blur the lines. There is also a world of difference between political socialism and economic socialism.

Obviously, political socialism is political decisions made for the benefit of society. Economic socialism is a form of economy that is similar to communism where some or all of the businesses are owned by society. It is obvious that using the term communism for this type of economy is easier to understand by everyone involved than to use the term socialism. This is obviously why the republicans try to use this confusion at every opportunity.

You can go to five different sources and get five different definitions for socialism. Too bad. It’s an easy opportunity for those intent on keeping their uneducated followers motivated. Fear Socialism!

Congratulations America! Way to Go!

Congratulations America! Way to Go!
by
Captain Jack

Congratulations America! You have done something America has been trying to do for the past 70 years. We’ve passed Health Insurance Reform. America, YOU ROCK!

For the past 70 years, while the rest of the world has created health care systems for all their people, Republican have fought with all their might against America’s efforts at reforming our broken system. And you finally did it!

This is such an important milestone that it’s hard to even put it in perspective. One day, many decades ago, America decided we would not allow our poor and old to die on street corners. Against the cries of Socialism from the Republicans, we became a better country, a country following the course defined in our constitution and America’s forefathers. Today, we passed health care reform and it is just as momentous and has been against as much pressures and lies from the Right Wing Nutsville.

But, America, this is just the start. If we just sit back and feel good about what we did, and nothing more, then you know the followers of the hate and fear party will be out in force, trying to undo every good thing that makes this country great. We can’t let that happen.

Stay active. Feel GREAT about our wonderful first step but know that it’s just a single step in helping America recover from the damages wrought by our brothers on the Right. Stay active. Talk to your neighbors, write letters to the papers and magazine and to our representatives. Donate! And let’s set our sights on the next big success for America.

Congratulations America!

Massey Mine Murder

So, what does the Massey Mine disaster tell us about the need for unions? Are you still believing the corporate marketing on how bad unions are for America? Would this have happened if it was a union mine?

Was this willful neglect on the part of the mine. Should this be tried as murder? Over 3.000 violations. This is the mine’s standard mode of operation. It’s cheaper to pay the fines than to protect the workers.

Obama the Secret Muslim

Obama the Secret Muslim
by
Captain Jack

The recent Harris poll makes obvious some downright despicable trends. Trends we’ve all known in our hearts but now there is no denying the facts. The 27% of America that still considers themselves Republicans are batshit crazy. No, I’m not talking about a little nuts around the edges, but just fully in the court of the insane. Take a quick look at the poll.

If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.

There has been a bit of denial about this as one would expect. Even though every Republican I know personally fits this poll quite closely, they all say that it doesn’t represent the Republicans THEY know. I guess the Republicans I know don’t know each other.

OpenLeft has a great post on this issue. You might want to check it out.

Another thing that all my Republican friends agree on: they’re all mad as heck. Mad because the Democrats are forcing things through that America doesn’t want.

Just listen to that logic. America is finally waking up to the fact that the Republican policies that we’ve been following for the past 30 years are destroying America and resoundingly voted out the people responsible for the bad policies. Now the party voted out is all upset because they believe America really secretly wants to continue their failed policies and “hate” the fact that the filthy liberals are forcing through their Socialist agenda.

Anyone disparagingly calling America’s Liberals “Socialists” is obviously ignorant to the fact that America was founded on the ideas of helping one another, yes, a SOCIALIST agenda. Yes, these intelligent Republicans are sure that we need to get SOCIALISM out of our country even though the vast majority of America wants it. The vast majority of America voted the Liberals in and voted out the failed Republican policies. How much more obvious can it be before these Republicans begin to turn off the lies they’re being told instead of forwarding them with each disproven email they receive?

Knock knock, wake up Republicans. Don’t hate it when Democracy works like it’s supposed to. Your policies have failed and America is kicking your butts out. How can you not understand that?

Let’s Go Back to Paper Ballots

Let’s Go Back to Paper Ballots
by
Captain Jack

Isn’t it time for America to evaluate our decision to move to electronic voting systems? I say it is way past time and we need to get to fixing this today.

The system we have today is a closed proprietary system which has no way to validate the results. Some states like Nevada have a paper trail that is printed as part of the voting process but there is no requirement to evaluate the paper trails and no way to ensure that the paper trail and electronic results match.

This begs an obvious question. What good, if any, are the paper verification systems on these electronic voting systems?

With a voting system that is not transparent to the voters the voters are beginning to feel they have lost confidence in the voting system. Without confidence in the system. people will eventually quit voting altogether. That is exactly what the Republicans want. The less people that participate in the voting process, the better their chances are of getting into office. Check out the Republican perspective on the value of votes.

Other nations have tried electronic voting systems and thrown them out. It’s time America did it as well.

Tea-Bagger Education #5

Tea-Bagger Education #5
by
Captain Jack

So here’s another strange personality defect present in today’s tea baggers and in the typical conservative. It’s called the Lemming trait. Of course, if’ you’re a conservative, you’ll find endless reasons why this isn’t you, regardless of the facts, but do yourself a favor and just think about it.

In the conservative (Authoritarian follower) mind set, being part of and being accepted by his group is as important as life. This makes for some of the most ridiculous behavior.

We can take examples from all around us in every day life, but we’ll just take an obvious one and leave it up to the readers (and commenters) to come up with their own examples or denials.

Example #1: News commentator Joe on one channel says there’s no such thing as global warming. Commentator Sue on another station says the same, and a third. When it is finally so obvious that temperatures are rising that no one can deny it any longer, these three commentators all come back with version two of their denial. Oh, it’s getting warmer, but not everywhere so it’s not getting warmer at all.

Your typical human with a functioning logic processor will say, hum, these people have been wrong and are now making up silly excuses why they’re not. But, everything else they say seems to make sense in my view so I’ll just ignore the inconsistencies.

Well, the next day these same commentators say, finally, oh bugger, I can’t deny it any longer so I guess we’re experiencing global warming, but the new twist is, oh, it’s not man’s fault.

Some even go so far off the tracks as to reverse themselves and say there’s still no warming just because they can find an area that is having a snow storm or because there was one flaw in the reams of evidence gathered.

Most people would quit believing commentators that are this often wrong and who refuse to adjust their positions based on evidence. But the conservative tea-bagger will just continue to follow them as if there’s nothing wrong with being wrong.

Why do conservatives continually follow those who are proven wrong so reliably? It’s because these commentators are their leaders, part of their cult or clan or group or political party. Group affiliation is more important than anything else.

Tea-bagger Education #4

Tea-bagger Education #4
by
Captain Jack

I joined the tea-baggers meetup group to have some frank and honest discussion regarding the important things, the things that are destroying our country. The sign up propaganda said it wasn’t a Republican group but was open to everyone.

Those running the meetup tea bagger group are as corrupt and dishonest as the rest of the Republican party. One post was regarding the charter for the group. The post said, open to everyone.

The very next post was telling all the poor uninformed tea baggers that they should vote against someone because he is a RINO. For those low information voters, RINO means Republican In Name Only. In other words, the group was telling the poor uninformed followers to not vote for someone because he isn’t Republican enough. Does that sound like it’s not a Republican group?

Does that sound like open and honest discussion regarding the issues? No, I suppose not.

So, I thought I would add my two cents worth and comment how the problems that America faced were more important than whether Obama was a socialist or someone was a RINO but rather what is happening to our freedoms, to our jobs, to our economy, to our corporate run government, or the fact that the politicians who toke an oath to uphold the constitution for We The People are actually bought by big business.

Do you think this open and non parisan discussion ever made it to the readers? No, I suppose you’ve already guessed, but all my emails were censored. We don’t want the low information tea baggers to get a single bit of information. No, not a chance to discuss the issues openly and frankly. No. Just the same old distractions keeping the poor uninformed followers upset about something, anything but the real issues facing America.

Poor uninformed tea baggers. Shame on you, the conservatives/republicans keeping the blinders on the feeble. You do yourselves and America a disservice.

Tea Bagger Education #3

Tea Bagger Education #3
by
Captain Jack

There’s no shortage of amusing stupidity in the lies told to the poor naive tea baggers. From today’s mail box, the honorable (convicted felon criminal) former mayor Roger Hedgecock spews lie after lie after just plain stupidity. Check out how low this man goes in deceiving the poor scared tea baggers. Why do you still listen to those you know are lying to you? Wake up tea baggers. There are real problems we ALL need to be addressing and we can’t while you’re distracted with these silly foolish lies.

Here goes — watch out, be scared, wet your pants, Obama wants to steal your retirement.

The idea to confiscate your retirement money came (no surprise) from academia.

Do you get that? Mr. felon criminal Roger Hedgecock warns you about how Obama wants to confiscate your retirement. Does anyone really believe this filth? Well, obviously a few here and there will be inclined to follow this garbage. It’s sad, but some people don’t have the critical thinking skills required to know up from down. But this is just sad to be taking advantage of the poor Americans that don’t know any better than to believe this nonsense.

Just think about that for a moment. An American president wants to confiscate your retirement? Really? And what’s next? Is he having an affair with an alien from outer space? It’s sad, but yes, some poor people don’t know any better than to believe this stuff. Shame on conservatives like Hedgecock for taking advantage of the less fortunate. Shame on them for taking advantage of our friends and neighbors.

Some people don’t remember much past last week, but about 30 years ago employers used to provide pensions for retirement benefits to their employees. A pension is like an insurance program. The longer you live the more you take out. The shorter you live the less you take out. In the long run, the same amount is taken out as is put in and everyone gets paid until the day they die.

The conservatives have brainwashed us all into thinking 401Ks are the way to go. Think for a moment about your 401K. If you are lucky enough to live a long healthy life, you’ll run out of retirement money and end up homeless or on Social Security or Welfare. Nice! Thank you Republicans for the 401K.

If, on the other hand, you die early, then you don’t get to use all the money you saved up. Thank you again, Republicans, for the 401K.

In other words, you lose either way. Who ever thought up such an awful retirement plan and who sold this lie to us? But, that’s another story.

So, Theresa Ghilarducci (repeat after me, OBAMA’S name is OBAMA, not Theresa), suggests many possible changes to the handling of 401Ks. For anyone alive today and who still has a brain cell, our 401Ks are worthless! The current Republican Depression has wiped them out. Theresa’s recommendations would prevent this from happening again and again. Shame on her for trying to come up with solutions. Let’s all hope the Republicans in Congress continue to obstruct everything that can possibly help us.

Yes, my dear tea baggers, Obama is after your worthless 401Ks and he plans to spend them on dinner and a night out with his favorite alien from Mars.

Oh, and by the way, Hedgecock’s bribery case and lying under oath was mysteriously tossed out by an appellate judge on a technicality. Do you really want to take the word of this man?

More Examples of Tea Bagger Education

More excitement from the tea bagger emails. No wonder these poor uninformed souls are so well, uninformed. Just look at what they get in the mail box. This is from the same “expert” promoted by the tea bagger education system from my last post.

As a serious student of history, I thought I would
never come to experience what the ordinary,
moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In
those times, the “savior” was a former
smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets,
about whom the average German knew next to
nothing.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated,
the most cultured country in Europe . It was
full of music, art, museums, hospitals,
laboratories, and universities.. And yet,
in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U.
S. presidency) it was rounding up its own
citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws,
turning children against parents, and neighbors
against neighbors.

This is some pretty amazing crap. Normally America would just ignore the people who are so detached from reality, but with Republican tax cuts destroying our education system, more people, aka, tea baggers, believe the misinformation.

Anyone who wasn’t drinking whiskey and snorting cocaine (hey, am I talking about Bush here?) in school knows that six years is an eternity for an American president who only gets 4 years unless he is doing something right and gets re-elected.

More importantly, though, is the crux of the fable. Hitler didn’t take over the country by himself. He had a cult following him that was unable and unwilling to question him. In other words, he had a typical Republican party behind him.

Obama, on the other hand, has the Democratic party (and most of America) behind him and we are watching him closely and are quick to object to corrupt or even questionable behavior. If you have spent any time at all reading what the Democrats have to say about Obama you would know this, but alas, I suppose your Republican education stream (Fox?) is failing you.

What allowed Hitler to reign was a group of followers who placed party above country and, if you’re a Republican, you recognize this trait. It’s what the lock-step Republican party is all about. You’re either with us or against us.

It breaks my heart to see my poor neighbors getting their information stream polluted with this kind of deception. Hey, tea baggers, wake up before it is too late. Your people are lying to you.

The Pride of the Republican Party

I get Tea Bagger email occasionally and it is never a disappointment. No wonder these poor deluded souls vote for Palin and still cling to the Republican party. There’s something seriously wron. Check out some the of the best for this week. This is from their touted expert on all thing tea-baggery:

Why? We have intentionally dumbed down our schools,
ignored our history, and no longer teach our
founding documents, why we are exceptional, and
why we are worth preserving. Students by and
large cannot write, think critically, read, or
articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers
are not picketing, school boards continue to
back mediocrity. Why?

Why? I”ll tell you why we’ve destroyed our education system and why we’re continuing to do so. Because the Republican party and the tea-baggers don’t want to have taxes to pay for a first-world country. Without a populous willing to pay tax dollars for a good country you end up with a Republican paradise, no taxes and a country like Somalia. Everyone but the tea baggers knows Reagan was wrong and government isn’t the problem. Lack of government is.

we have elected a man that no one really knows
anything about, who has never run so much as a
Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla
, Alaska . All of his associations and alliances
are with real radicals in their chosen fields of
employment, and everything we learn about him,
drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright
scary

Scary? Are the Republicans really so easily scared? No wonder they over reacted to 9/11 and gave Bin Laden everything he could have dreamed of. It’s time they became a little braver. But let’s get back to the point of not knowing who Obama is.

This author is correct, the Republicans have no idea whatsoever who Obama is. That’s because their news sources don’t tell them anything other than second-grade-level sound bytes. Please, turn off your TV for a few moments a day and actually try to find out what is going on in the world.

Obama is a constitutional scholar, an expert in thing that matter to America. Why weren’t you out there revolting against Bush? What did you know about him? Did he ever EVER run a successful business? Was he in bed with the Arabs? Was his crowning moments when he was a cheer leader or when her was AWOL from the military? We know a lot about Obama and about Bush. Just open your eyes.

2010 and America’s Lost Decade

2010 and America’s Lost Decade
by
Captain Jack

Happy New Year to one and all. May this year bring you the financial relief and medical coverage you so deserve. Let’s take a quick look back at the past decade.

Let’s see, it’s January 2000. The economy is booming, the federal budget is in the black for the first time in decades, we were at a time of relative peace. We trusted our sciences and scientists, we had confidence in our banks. We had some control over our banking sector, even though Gramm-Leach-Bliley act had just been passed but the banking sector insanities hadn’t shifted into high gear, yet.

The middle-class American made almost $1700 more per year than today.

Oh, and did I say that we weren’t in the middle of two middle-eastern wars? Oh I did?

So, what, exactly, can you say that America saw in the past decade that was beneficial? Okay, sure, there were a few Peace Prizes, a few discoveries, oh, and we finally pulled the life support from a long gone dead woman.

You can say it is just a coincidence that these were the Bush years, but no one really believes that it was anything but Bush and the Republican politicians who benefited from everything that is now harming America.

Dumbing Down America

Why hasn’t this been on the nation’s headlines every day? This is a major deal. Almost 35% of New Jersey Republicans think Obama might be the Antichrist. Got that? 1 in 3 people are so sick and perverted that they think their president might be the son of Lucifer. Why isn’t this being screamed from the rooftops? America has become a country of mental retards. Well, at least New Jersey Republicans.

So, I ask you, if they’re really sick and stupid enough to believe this crap, how sure are you that they’ll be turnning out to vote? 100%? Maybe 110% just to make sure.

Attention America! This is what you call having your deluded base energized. You know every one of these retards is going to be out there voting. Now, don’t be telling me how you feel disenfranchised because Obama isn’t doing everything the way you want it. Yes, we need to keep the pressure on Obama but don’t even think that you have the luxury of feeling frustrated about voting.

The fanatics have taken over one of America’s political parties and they’ll be out in force trying to take over the entire country coming next election day.

Quit your whining, America, and get energized enough to get out there and save our country. We have to save America from the radicals.

So what gives? The Republicans had complete control of the country for almost 10 years and drove it into the ground. No point in sugar coating it. They ran it into the ground. They had 10 years to start to address health care but couldn’t have cared any less. Just think of it, TEN years and what did we get? The worst recession since the last Republican recession courtesy of Reagan’s failure to regulate the Savings and Loans.

Here we are, trying to bring America back from the brink and what are the Republican politicians doing to help? Anything? Anything at all? No, all they are doing is obstructing everything they can. They have shattered all records of the abuse of the filibuster. Their stated purpose is to break Obama. Obviously that means even if it breaks America.

Why would any political party neglect the country to the point that the Republicans have and then be hateful enough to continue to obstruct any effort to clean up their mess?

More important, why would anyone support such a political party? Such a defective party with misplaced priorities.
