Government’s Role in Business

There are two important issues closely intertwined in America’s corporate-influenced government – the role of government, and the priorities of a successful business person.

Let’s start with the role of government. Many people seem to forget that there is no “THE government”. There is only “US government”. The government is OUR government. It is the laws and policies that we, the people, have put together to make OUR lives better. We really need to start using the right words, here. There is no “THE government”.

Now, why wouldn’t we want our government regulating the poisons coming out of corporate smokestacks? Of course we do. That’s why we created a government in the first place – to allow us to better protect ourselves.

Beware when you hear a politician saying, THE government. It’s probably a lie that follows.

So, what is the driving principles of the successful entrepreneur? A drive for wealth and power. For the average business man in America, today, morals have to play a very minor role, or the business is doomed to fail at the expense of the more ruthless business. The only way to stay competitive is to sell your soul to the devil.

When we were a small country, this wasn’t quite as true. When businesses got a bad name 100 years ago, they usually went out of business. Today, they go to the marketing companies and come up with a new past.

This makes it impossible for the average customer to know the real history of any business, and sooner or later we all end up buying from companies that are out to do us harm.

Along comes our government. We put laws in place to protect us from unethical business practices and it works for a while. However, sooner or later someone votes for a Republican and we find ourselves where we are today, with our billions of dollars invested in OUR government being stolen right out from under our noses.

We need our government to be strong in order to stem the infection invading our corporations.

Here’s what we need to fix:

1. Remove freedom of speech from corporations.
2. Stop the aristocratic society by increasing the inheritance tax to 99% after the first $1 Million.
3. Quit pussyfooting around with the fines. If it’s a case of harming the communities, the world, or the customers, make the fines serious. 40% of net profits the first occurrence, 40% of gross sales on the second occurrence, and prison terms for all board of directors on the third occurrence. It should never be cheaper to pay the fines than to fix the problem. No more pussyfooting!

Got any other suggestions?
