Congratulations and the Media

Congratulations America for stepping back from the cliff. America has given the Democrats a clear mandate to reverse course and clean up the unprecedented mess the Republican have made of this country. Good on you, America.

The damage is everywhere and much of the damage is self-propagating. Take the press and the media as an example. America will never know the extent of the problems or how or even if it’s fixed if we can’t get the straight truth from the media. Looking at the pundit lineup on the major news channels on election night showed so blatantly how broken the media is.

The first thing we have to do is fix the news media. No more corrupt corporate news media, period. That is the only solution to this.  Small local news outlets with a charter to provide a service to the country is the only news outlets we should allow.

We all know that they hold the education of the voters in their hands and they will wield that power any way that best suits them, so it won’t be easy fixing this, but nothing will get done without it.

We Americans generally don’t like to discuss this issue very much for fear of being labeled a fanatic, but it’s time we seriously looked at it.

How close did America come to being another Nazi dictatorship?

Very close, and the risk isn’t over. There are still millions of Americans (does Alaska and Stevens ring a bell?) that will gladly destroy America to advance their own political cult. Unfortunately for America, the Republican cult is merging with many religious cults. When it’s party over the country (Alaska, you listening?) it’s not American, it’s a cult, a sick and very dangerous cult.

I don’t expect to change the minds of those too wrapped up in the lies to see straight, but I’m hoping that most of America can begin to see the tremendous risk the Republican cult poses to a free America.

One of the best treatments for cult worship is education. That’s probably why the Republicans are trying to destroy our school system with Creationism and school vouchers.

Congratulations Nevada, Better than Alaska

Yea! Congratulations, my fellow Nevadans, for turning Nevada blue. There is hope for our great state after all. Alaska? What’s wrong with you?

Nevada voted in a Republican governor who was under investigation for numerous unethical scandals. Now that the state is all but bankrupt, we are beginning to see how stupid that choice was, and we still have years to go before Gibbons is through.

But, compare that with Alaska. Imagine voting in Stevens, a convicted criminal, to the Senate. Alaska, did you do that because you like America? Was that for America’s benefit?

What kind of sick people will vote for a known crook to govern them? Really patriotic of you Alaska. What ever happened to your state? I remember Alaska being real and honest people with serious principles. What happened to you? I guess it comes with being so blinded by the Republican media machine that you can no longer think for yourselves.

Wake up Alaska.
