It would be funny if it wasn’t so harmful to America just how wrong the lies of the “liberal media” really are. Our country’s media is owned, lock, stock and barrel by major corporations and they are all hell bent to destroy any chance the 99% have of saving our country from the greedy.

That’s because they are the greedy corporations. They share the same members of the boards of directors of the rest of the greedy corporations.

But, back to the media bias, even the Pew Research institute has determined that Obama receives four times more negative media than the Republicans.

How can Americans ever possibly make a good decision on their candidates when the media is out there trying to make imbeciles of them, and in the case of most republicans, succeeding?

Hey, why aren’t they still playing to the mentally deficient birthers? It’s probably not over, yet.

Obama has said repeatedly that the progressives in the Democratic party are irrelevant because they have no where else to go.

Well, that’s not true. The only way to force Obama back to the left is to put some left-leaning pressure on him. We have to show Obama that the progressives do have somewhere else to go.

I never thought I would say this but perhaps it’s time to find a progressive challenger to oppose Obama’s right-leaning slide off the cliff.

Senator Sanders would be a great candidate, but he’s not interested in the sewage that one must wallow in to become president.

There must be a whole list of qualified and better candidates out there who can oppose righter-than-right Obama.

Captain Jack

Just got this in my email. This is from the Tea Party. It’s quite disgusting to see so many Americans intent on attacking America’s president and the workers and middle class. Just read this.

Dear Friends,

We’re engaged on many fronts in the political battle with Barack Obama and his union allies in Wisconsin and many other states across America. As you heard today, an activist judge played the role Obama wanted and blocked Gov. Walker’s new collective bargaining law.

And a new poll finds Gov. Walker’s opponents trying to mobilize the public against him. So we need you to help in 2 important ways:

1. Vote for Gov. Walker in this new Journal Times Poll – CLICK HERE TO VOTE

2. Help us fight back against the mob tactics of the Obama campaign team and organized labor unions – and make the most generous contribution you can afford to the Tea Party Express.

If you can afford a larger contribution of $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more, then please – do your part to show the Left that their efforts will only embolden us even more!

You can contribute any amount up to the maximum allowed limit of $5,000. And since we’re in a new election cycle, those of you who had previously “maxed out” are once again able to contribute as much as you’d like – all the way up to that $5,000 maximum.

To contribute, just click the button below:

As always, if you prefer, you may also make a contribution via U.S. mail, by sending a check to:

Tea Party Express

That’s right, word for word how it was sent. Let me repeat, “We’re engaged on many fronts in the political battle with Barack Obama…”

These people are in a battle with the representative of the majority of America. What does that make them? Well, beyond the obvious such as ignorant, naive, confused, there is the very real aspect of being against everything America stands for. These people are plain and simple, anti-American.

They want to stop the “mob tactics”. Really? You mean like Democracy? These people are being asked to donate money to fight against workers in Wisconsin. Now that’s pretty darned disgusting.

We have a very sick cult in America being blinded and led by billionaires who are out to destroy our democracy and steal what’s left of our American Dream.

So what were your thoughts on President Obama’s State of the Union Address tonight? Here are a few of my thoughts:

High Speed Rail! It’s about time. This is a good goal. Of course those against America will oppose it.

Investing in innovations like solar is a good step if you can make sure you’re stimulating OUR economy.

Electric cars. Yeah!

No messing with Social Security

Make the rich pay their fair share

No comment on bringing our jobs home. Just chatter about how if we’re better educated we’ll be better able to compete (with dollar a day Chinese slave labor?)

No comment about busting up the too-big-to-fail banks or cleaning up our media or enforcing anti-trust regulations.

All in all, it was a motivating speech that was a little short on specifics, but full of lots of grand ideas.

Things the GOP Hates – Part 1
by
Captain Jack

I’m quite surprised by the Republican Party for all the things they oppose. One would think that they oppose anything the Democrats want, even if such opposition hurts America. Then, again, maybe there really is reason to oppose these things Democrats are trying to pass thinking it’s for the benefit of America. Let’s take a look at what the GOP hates.

The list of things the GOP opposes is huge and grows every day so deciding where to start leaves countless possibilities. So, I’ll start with things that the GOP has expressed the most opposition to, namely fixing our broken health care system.

The GOP has promised repeatedly that if they get back into power they’ll repeal the health care reform bill. They’ve pledged to, “Repeal the Costly Health Care Takeover of 2010.”

It sickens me to see a major political party in America so steeped in lies. I would have said, “what moron would ever believe that the tax bill is taking over the health care” but seeing all the people who sadly believed the lies about the death panels and believe that Obama’s coming for their guns, I sadly realize that a large number of Americans are successfully deceived by these lies over and over again.

If you are one of the many Republicans who visit this site, please stop and drop me a comment and let me what’s going on inside your head when it comes to this stuff.

Why does anyone believe the lies when it’s proven that the party is lying over and over? Is it easily forgotten each time or does your news media neglect to correct the lies?

America has been trying for many decades to fix our broken health care system. We’ve known it’s broken since the early 1900s. Republican administrations and Democratic administrations have tried repeatedly to fix this mess only to be beaten down by the medical and health care industries. Now, after all these failed attempts, America has succeeded in a first step at fixing the problem and the same health care and medical industries have convinced many of us how it’s not in our best interests to see this fixed.

So, Republicans, please enlighten me. Why are you so opposed to America fixing our broken health care system? We’re the last industrialized nation to fix the death by greed problems. So, what, exactly, are you so opposed to? The lie of death panels has been cleared up, the lie of it costing more than it saves over the next few years has been debunked. Exactly what is remaining that makes the GOP want to repeal this? Is the problem really just the fact that the Democrats were successful in helping America and the GOP don’t want it to stick?

Is it possible that the Republican voters really don’t want America to fix our broken health care system? I just refuse to believe that.

Now that the health care bill is in effect, how much have your taxes gone up? None? In fact isn’t Obama trying to get the middle class tax cuts to continue? How many death panels have you seen? How much is your health care rationed? None?

Well, then, really, what is the GOP opposed to when it comes to fixing our health care system?

Captain Jack

I’ve heard one person after another explaining how Obama’s deficit is the biggest in history. I though I would look into this claim a little and see what I can find. Here’s is a quick graph from OffTheChartsBlog to show what the major contributors are to the deficit.

US Deficit

Take a look at the white area of the graph at the bottom. You see the small sliver of white? That is what the deficit would look like without the Bush years. In other words, take away the economic collapse Bush ushered in, take away the Bush tax cuts for billionaires, take away Bush’s misguided wars and what you have left is the small area at the bottom.

Of course, the TARP money is from the Bush years if you remember. TARP was already passed before Obama took office.

So, please, do yourself a favor and get in the habit of questioning the numbers and fears you hear spread by the right wing lie machine. It’s sole purpose is to take advantage of the uninformed. Don’t be one of them.

Captain Jack

Do you remember the solidarity America felt after we were attacked on 9/11? The whole country came together. The sitting president had one of the worst approval ratings and most of America knew we were attacked because of his failings, but we all stood together. UNITED WE STOOD.

Katrina came along and the same sitting president continued to sit while New Orleans drowned. Four days of people dying and Americans were united in our efforts to address the problems. We all knew that the sitting president had been appointed by a coup of the Supreme Court, but we all united to address the problems rather than attacking the utter failure of a president.

Compare that with today. We have one of the best presidents America has seen in decades. Just look at the long long list of wonderful accomplishments, not to mention digging our economy out of the Republican Second Great Depression.

But all the Republicans can do is complain that he isn’t addressing the economy (until they’re proven to be liars) or complaining about how he isn’t enough involved in the oil spill (until they are proven to be wrong yet again) or complaining about how Obama must be unfit to be president because he was born in Kenya (and these lies have been exposed time after time).

Do you see any sort of contrast? A Republican president bringing destruction upon America and we are still all united to solve our difficulties. A Democratic president comes along and the Republican will do anything, even bringing disaster to our country to try to bring him down.

Sick. Just real sick. How about if we all tried a little “United We Stand”?

The Valdez of Our Day
by
Captain Jack

Maybe a better title would be, “The Katrina of Today”, or maybe “Obama’s Katrina.”

The Obama administration has been involved in resolving this oil spill since the beginning but they have been doing a worthless job of keeping the American people informed.

It makes sense keeping BP involved in this cleanup effort since it’s their disaster and America doesn’t own off shore oil rigging equipment. Still, we need to know what is going on. It is now obvious to everyone that BP has been lying to us about the scope of the disaster. Has Obama been involved in this deception or just victim to it, but either way, it’s wrong. We need to put as much effort into this as we can.

It was a good move on our part to forbid BP from continuing to pump toxic dispersants into the waters, after how many hundreds of thousands of gallons were injected. And, why are we (and BP) pumping dispersants into the water? Is this to aid with the clean up? Doubtful.

Hey Obama, be careful what you are doing here. If you try to keep this disaster secret, you will make this a disaster worse than Bush’s handling of Katrina.

Well, Obama, it’s been over a year since you took office and we’re no closer to getting out of Vietnam, oh, I mean Afghanistan. What gives? Get out, already.

I know, I know, Bush got us into this mess, but really, Obama, can’t you do a little better about getting us out? Killing civilians isn’t winning over the hearts and minds of the Afghans and the longer we stay there the more civilians will die, not to mention the more dead Americans.

Things are not getting better there and they will only continue to worsen the longer we’re there.

It’s time to declare victory and get the heck out of Dodge.

Captain Jack

The recent Harris poll makes obvious some downright despicable trends. Trends we’ve all known in our hearts but now there is no denying the facts. The 27% of America that still considers themselves Republicans are batshit crazy. No, I’m not talking about a little nuts around the edges, but just fully in the court of the insane. Take a quick look at the poll.

If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.

There has been a bit of denial about this as one would expect. Even though every Republican I know personally fits this poll quite closely, they all say that it doesn’t represent the Republicans THEY know. I guess the Republicans I know don’t know each other.

OpenLeft has a great post on this issue. You might want to check it out.

Another thing that all my Republican friends agree on: they’re all mad as heck. Mad because the Democrats are forcing things through that America doesn’t want.

Just listen to that logic. America is finally waking up to the fact that the Republican policies that we’ve been following for the past 30 years are destroying America and resoundingly voted out the people responsible for the bad policies. Now the party voted out is all upset because they believe America really secretly wants to continue their failed policies and “hate” the fact that the filthy liberals are forcing through their Socialist agenda.

Anyone disparagingly calling America’s Liberals “Socialists” is obviously ignorant to the fact that America was founded on the ideas of helping one another, yes, a SOCIALIST agenda. Yes, these intelligent Republicans are sure that we need to get SOCIALISM out of our country even though the vast majority of America wants it. The vast majority of America voted the Liberals in and voted out the failed Republican policies. How much more obvious can it be before these Republicans begin to turn off the lies they’re being told instead of forwarding them with each disproven email they receive?

Knock knock, wake up Republicans. Don’t hate it when Democracy works like it’s supposed to. Your policies have failed and America is kicking your butts out. How can you not understand that?
